Organizing your laundry room or are requires that you give some really good thought on what currently does or better yet does not work in your situation.  In today’s market there are all kinds of things that are available to help organize your space and make it more productive. Let’s look at the various option you can find.

If you find that you need more storage space for your detergent and other laundry accessories check out an over the washer storage shelf. Some of these units will attach to the washer or dryer and make much needed laundry accessory space.  Most will be made of a strong steel material that is coated with a white vinyl and can match most laundry room decors perfectly.  Because it has a vinyl coating, there is no chance of scratching your washer or dryer.

Another great organizational tip that will also save you laundry time is the purchase of a rolling laundry center.  You might see something like this at your local Raleigh laundromat. Of course, that’s on a much larger scale. This type is usually constructed of a sturdy tubular metal that will hold three heavy duty laundry bags made of canvas.  These canvas bags will be removable and can be used to sort your laundry easily.  One for dark’s, lights, and colors is the norm.  You may be able to find one with a fourth for your dedicates as needed.  Each of the bags will hold a full load of laundry.  Some will include a hanging rod at the top which will be handy for holding extra hangers and finished garments for put up.

If you can locate some, a replacement bag for this sorter is great for attaching to the washer or dryer to add even more storage.  They can then hold a variety of things.  Use them to store extra linens and towels.

If you do not have a space to hang clothing as it is ironed or dries then invest in a clothing rod.  This will give you a great place to hang your garments to prevent wrinkling from the dryer and also make it easy to sort laundry for the family for taking it back to the closet.  If you do not have the space to attach a full rod then look for a small low-profile hanger you can find in any big box home improvement store. Many of these will fold down when not in use and take up as little as 1.25 inches of wall space.  They give you at least 12 full inches of hanging space.

A laundry tub is an excellent place to fold clothes.  You will need to add a tub topper to make it useful for folding.  This can be purchased or you can make one with the proper materials.  Many that can be purchased are made of a high-impact plastic.  A good strong piece of wood can also be used.  You can even be creative and add a pop of color to the room with some paint.
