The reason many people want to make their own laundry detergent is that those conventional detergents contain loads of chemicals. They have sulfate fragrances, and phenols just to name a few. The biggest culprit is petroleum distillates. These have been directly linked to lung disease and cancer. That wonderful fragrance which makes us want to use certain brands are made up of a mixture of these harmful chemicals.

One of the easiest cleaning products to make is your own laundry detergent. This will save money and works just as well as a store-bought detergent. There are two versions. One for powdered detergent and one for liquid soap.
