Your garments do not stay in the water constantly as they do in most top loading machines. A Front-loading machine also has the ability to sense the right amount of water needed to wash the load of laundry you place in it. Top loading washers have often had vibration issues. This has been the same issue in front loading washers as well. If there is vibration coming from the machine this is transferred to the floor. This is a problem that most manufacturers are constantly working to fix. Another big concern with front-loader washers has been with mold and mildew concerns. This is an issue with the door and seal of the washer. This problem can also happen in the detergent dispenser. The large front rubber gasket is the worst culprit. Manufacturers have worked to try and fix this problem over the years but the problems do persist. It is recommended that consumers follow the manufacturers instructions carefully. This includes using detergents formulated for high efficiency (HE) washers only. It is also recommended that you leave the door ajar after each load to allow the washer to dry thoroughly to prevent any mold or mildew from occurring.

One of the major things that we like to do for the holidays is decorating our homes. • If you still have the empty bottle of liquid detergent fill it up with some warm water. Next, give it a good couple of shakes. This should give you enough for one load of laundry. Just empty the entire thing into the washer. If you use powdered detergent, no problem. This can also be done in a box. Just be a little more careful when you stir it up. Most of us have a tendency to use too much detergent per load. In the modern high efficiency washing machines two teaspoons will clean an entire load of laundry really well. The washer’s agitation and the water will do the bulk of the cleaning. Be sure to pre-treat stains for the best clean. As always use the correct water temperature for the best clean.
• If you use this method be sure to add some kind of enhancers like baking soda or a borax. Usually one-half a cup is the right amount. This will boost the detergent and help ensure your clothing gets as clean as possible. Put the booster into the washer before you add the clothes and detergent. The correct order would be the booster, detergent, garments, and then the water.

First lets consider our washing machines and dryers. How old is your current machines? If they are more than 8 to 10 years old they might not be as energy efficient as they could be. Today’s machines are designed in order to save as much energy as possible while still cleaning your clothing really well. When it comes to water temperature cold is best. The hotter the water temperature the more energy used. In fact, hot water will cause your machine to use 90 percent more energy than cold. Most detergents are formulated today to clean in cold water really well. Pollution is also decreased and the energy savings of newer machines can be a pleasant surprise.

With Fall comes a different variety of stains. Everything pumpkin is popular this time of year. Pumpkin stains can happen as those awesome jack-o-lanterns are carved into a beautiful masterpiece. When this happens you will want to scrape off all of the pumpkin on your clothes. Do a good soak with some mild detergent for at least 30 minutes or more. Launder as usual but make certain to check that the stain is gone before drying. Repeat the process if necessary.

This is also the time of year for all things pumpkin spice. Lattes, cocoa, and other coffee flavoring can cause a big stain problem when spilled onto clothing. When a spill happens to you immediately blot as much of the liquid as possible from the fabric. As soon as you can apply a mixture of dish detergent, water, and vinegar to the item. Allow the item to soak this in and then rinse in warm water. If stain remains you may repeat the process before laundering. Do not dry the item until stain is removed completely.

This substance can pull the oil out of your clothes pretty quickly. The trick is to do this as fast as possible to ensure the oil is removed from the fabric. Most of us will not be able to get by with just one pair!  As you decide on accessories begin to add them in.  Roll up any belts and place them in your gaps.  You can do this with your lingerie and jewelry as well.  Clothes will go in  next laying them flat.

A great way to plan your wardrobe is to think about entire outfits.  Plan the whole ensemble from top to bottom including shoes and accessories.  This ensures you will have what you need to get dressed each day.  If you are going to a special event or party then plan this outfit ahead of time and make certain to take any jewelry and other accessories you will need.

A few more tips are to include a smell-good sachet inside your luggage.  This will keep everything smelling great during your trip.  When packing your toiletry’s keep them in a separate leak proof bag.  This will ensure nothing leaks on your clothing during travel…a disaster for certain.  Use mini travel size bottles of shampoo, conditioner, etc. as much as possible.  This will save you lots of room for other things.
